The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
The book was relatable in the context of how hopeless life sometimes feels on the romantic front when you have too many responsibilities and too little time. More on the front that dating truly is more exhausting than anything else.
The vibe on the intimacy front was a bit flat. The brooding man was nice but somehow things weren’t that gripping. Data and science were nice learning experiences, and they were different stuff for me.
Other than that I guess 3.5 stars from me. Also,
TELL ME THEIR SCORE!!!

This book was well written. The twisted poetries were a thing that kept me ensnared. The names. Elspeth and Ravyn. Ah… I like new and different names. Beautifully written. A good combination of Horror, Fantasy, Magic and Romance.
Some villain inside the head who is was suspecting will become a hero. Let’s see how it pans out in the next book. Loving the pace and characters. Favourite so far being Elspeth and Elm. Hated most of course Ione and Hauth.

Book review: Funny Story by Emily Henry
Funny Story by Emily Henry
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book has torn me apart. The way Emily portrays the raw emotions hooks inside and pulls you from your intestines.
First of the first, my heart fell out of my stomach when I read the name of Protagonist Daphne Vincent. It was my pen name for some time and just felt too cruel to read it kinda tauntingly in a romance book.
The emotions that Daphne is feeling at 84% of the book. The eternal wait, being chosen the last, being a backup, all of those intricacies are told in such a thoughtful and deep manner that I had no choice but to put the book down weeping and write the heaviness I feel about. It’s heartbreaking and I hate Peter and Sadie and her Dad. I feel so deeply for her, this Daphne. She deserves to be happy. She deserves not to wait for people to show up and for some reliable people to just be in her life to stop her from questioning her worth.
The Guy is the best book boyfriend ever.
With Emily's writing I am not usually looking for the heat or smut but the way she makes the sentences so wholesome, the analogies that she draws from the depths of mundane life examples. I love what she writes, Just like Emma here says, "I can happily read her grocery list as well"

This was an okayish book. The drama of the first book was good enough but it stretched too long in this one too. I wanted some closure for the Villain and his assistant but alas there's one more book and I can't read this more or wait for it to give me closure. The drama should have been shorter and made more sense. Uff. Giving up. Too many gapsing, flinching and loud emotions in the series what was interesting in the first book was eventually irritating in the second one. I don't know I wanted more. More of them, more essence and the stupid POV's of the side characters? No, thank you!

The writing - refreshing and so powerful.
The intricate scenes were done so beautifully almost each page of it was powered with some buzz, drama and story moving and moving. The suspense and comedy and subtle signs of romance were so well woven. I am amazed I hadn't seen this on Instagram booktok as much as it should have been. The clumsy girl, brooding guy, TAKE MY MONEY!! The character development was amazing, the ultimate suspense unravelling of the traitor was WOAH!
Onto the next book. This book is 5 stars because it was un-put-down-able! I rather missed work and read this.

Book review: See You Yesterday by Rachel Lynn Solomon
See You Yesterday by Rachel Lynn Solomon
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I liked the writing. The concept of time loop. But it got a bit repetitive after a while? Ofcourse they were stuck in time, it was supposed to.
For a change I liked the portrayal of a curvy girl in the books. The protagonist not being petite, and slim was like breath of fresh air and I felt a sense of camaraderie with her in her body image issues.
Other than that, I felt a certain kind of disconnect with the characters as I couldn't immerse myself completely in the book. For me it's a huge part of the rating system, being un-put-down-able.
But this one was. I kept doing other stuff in between, and willingly.
So 3.5 stars? It was good. But I guess not something I'll remember for a long time and not something I'll read again.

Book review: Betting on You by Lynn Painter
Betting on You by Lynn Painter
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I like her writing style. But the characters. I didn't like the immaturity of the male characters of Ms. Lynn painter. Like NOT the book boyfriends I'll dream of.
The indecisiveness, reckless, and thoughtlessness in the characters is a bit jarring for me which makes me cringe and scream at my kindle.
The character has much much similarities with the one in 'Better than the movies', the relationship with parent, the insecurity about the new partner of the single parent. I like those details though, the way the emotions are explored and explained.
The part where she realises about the bet was emotional one for me, when she feels all alone in the world, that too hit home like anything. I usually rate books that make me cry as 5 stars, but this one wasn't that good. The most frustrating thing about this book was the anticipation of the kiss between the characters, it was so misplaced. They were kissing without preamble, without the build up and kind of anti-climactic. Phew, a light read, good writing, great emotional explanations, but I guess I needed more for it to be in my 5 stars list.

I was apprehensive about starting this. I knew it was about non/dub-con. The writing wasnit gripping enough for me. But yet I soldiered on without DNFing.
Two stars because I did find the guy 'redeemable' and 'good at heart'. I know it is messed up. But what can you do, we are like that sometimes.
Few dialogues of the main guy were nice but it mostly irked me the first person talking about yourself. Both in the case of Adeline and Z. I have read a better non-con story on informal platforms. So yeah, not very impressive. In fact I skipped soooo much of the text with the Male's POV.

Just started on prologue and hooked. How does Ali Hazelwood do it every time? Her characters have so much depth and the language. I thought I might now like it this time since I have been reading fantasy for some time but dude. Her language goes to the heart. The vocabulary and sentences. Hooked hooked hooked.
Ali Hazelwood is so funny. Effortlessly so. It looks effortless, I am sure It can't be. The bond between Serena and Misery is *chefs kiss*
I fell more in love with you Ali Hazelwood ❤
Misery was relatable. Lowe was admirable until the point of him being a douche and then it went kinda downhill for me. It was definitely 5 stars up till then. But then I had to let go. Even the end and bliss wasn't satisfactory once I lost the anchor in the characters.

I take my words back I guess I HATE Cat. Catorina whatever.
Andarna is so funny as a teenager. Just so sarcastic, witty and annoying to Tairn. I love love love their bond. I love love love Xaden. So so much. And Ridoc and Sawyer and Rhiannon.
I love the way Rebecca writes about the platonic moments between Xaden and Violet. The details of hands and breaths. The beautiful picturization. It's so heartwarming and exceptional.
The end was *BOOM*. JACK BARLOWE ????? again?
There are still so many things that need to be resolved. But yes, I am going to await the next book. This is one I feel is going to be worth the wait. Rebecca is a promising writer.
the show stealer for me will be the bond between Violet and her dragon, Tairn. Hands down. Their banter is perfect. The way he is there ALWAYS in her head, givings comments. I love that shit!

Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

This book was LOOOOONNGGGG. I mean I usually read a 7-9 hours long book in a day and a half but this one took me a week full of evenings. It was 22 hours long on my Kindle. Like WOW.
I was into it as soon as the angle of the reluctant journey came into being. I kinda had my apprehensions about a certain 'best friend' from the start. He was annoying and interfering. The best relationship in the whole of the book was between Tairn and Violet. I love love love Tairn. And Andarna. She is such a pure soul. Like our Violence. The book was a perfect blend of action, thriller and slow budding romance. All along the book I HATED Jake Barlowe like I hate Umbridge. He is a sadistic, unhinged AH.
The cliffhanger had me start the second book right away.
This book is something that warrants a re-read for all the bits and pieces one overlooks but are important later on in the story. It's a well-written and well-woven world. Rebecca Yarros, take a bow.

Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez

I love the previous two books in the series. I don't know why I couldn't feel for Emma much. I loved Justin's character. Abby Jimenez seriously writes the best book boyfriends ever. Like, these men are straight out of our dreams.
Amber.. I hated her so much. So so much. And the twist just made me hate her more and more.
I loved the relationship between Maddy and Emma. What I didn't like was the repetitive 'getting small' thing. I understand it was to make a point but it was getting on my nerves after the second time it was pointed out.
Again I loved the other two books but this fell short on Emma. Three stars are all for Justin.

The book was a collection of all the cliches in terms of writing, a person can think of. How can a person see a " flash of *any emotion under the sun*" on another's face with accuracy?
The writing was the reason I literally skipped the last three chapters. Talk about closure. Closure was putting it in the "Read" section with a sigh.
People on Instagram have been going on and on about the chemistry and love in this book.
That wasn't chemistry. Give me a brooding and sullen hero and bubbly and auah sunshine lady, I'll make a thousand more beautiful scenarios that don't end with making you roll your eyes at the predictably and again "cliche-ness".
I gave it a try, an honest one because the setup for me seemed ideal. Bodyguard and a princess. Uff.. so much potential and such a let down.

This was better than the previous one because it had angst on Cardan's part. Drama. Wrapping of many many plotlines. and satisfactory on that. Jude, I liked her here, finally show of vulnerability was here which I really was craving from the start. And the confession was good. The end was good. The middle and start were good too. I liked Grima Mog. And hated Madoc like anything. And Yay Locke got what he deserved. But I still don't like Taryn, I don't know why but I couldn't forgive her.

Wasn't boring. But not not-put-down-able. The twist at the end was nice and I am looking forward to the next book. The slow burn romance of it may be worth it. The writing is good enough. Hoping for better twists ahead.
I liked the part about Jude not being able to belong anywhere, not feeling like home anywhere. Being powerless and power hungry. I hated Taryn and most of all I hated Locke.
The prince hasn't caught me in his grip yet. He has been kind of a side character in this book.

I was really looking forward to reading Twisted Love, but unfortunately, it fell far short of my expectations. The characters felt one-dimensional and lacked depth, making it hard to connect with them. The plot was predictable and lacked the twists and excitement I anticipated from the title. Additionally, the writing style seemed rushed and unpolished, with numerous clichés that made the story feel stale. It was a disappointing read, and I wouldn't recommend it to others.

Irritating writing style. It's too rowdy or 'fuck-that-shit' kinda of dialogue for me. I tried, I really tried but not mature enough or gripping enough writing for me does not cut it for me. I read good reviews and thought I'll go into it for a light cute read. But nope.

Until now I was pitying Apollo a bit. But this is inhumane. He is the villain, not Jacks !
At 100%
That confession!!!!!
There might be some spoilers, sorry!
**********************************
Okay first my fav dialogues:
“She tried to pull away, but Jacks held tight, knotting her hair in his fist and keeping his forehead pressed to hers. "Please, Little Fox, remember.”
“Yes, I am a monster. I enjoy hurting people. I like blood. I like pain. I am a monster, but whether you remember it or not, I’m your monster, Evangeline.”
“Archer held her tighter. He banded one arm firmly around her ribs, the other he circled just below her waist, almost on her hips, his fingers splayed in a way that felt less like he wanted to restrain her and more like he just wanted to touch her--to hold her on that bridge in the dark where it was only the two of them and the rain and the feel of too many heartbeats racing between them.”
“I’m not taking you to heaven,”
“I already told you. You are the love of my life. You are mine, Jacks of the Hollow. And you’re not going to be the end of me.” “But you were dying.” “No,” she said, a little embarrassed. “I just forgot to breathe.”
“He would carry her through more than just freezing waters. He would pull her through fire if he had to, haul her from the clutches of war, from falling cities and breaking worlds . . .”
“Her memories didn’t feel so much like her past as they felt like their story. The story of Evangeline and Jacks. And it was a beautiful story, her new favorite story. She hated that she’d forgotten it.”
“I'm broken. I like to break things. Sometimes I want to break you."
"Then break me Jacks.”
“He considered setting the room ablaze just so that he'd have a reason to pick her up and carry her out, to save her one last time, before he left her for good.”
“What is the point of having friends if they’re not there to support your bad decisions?”
“I know I seem naive," Evangeline pressed on. " I know my faith in love might appear foolish. I also know it might not be enough. But I'm not doing this because I believe I'll win. I'm actually a little afraid I'm going to lose. I no longer think love is a guarantee of victory or of happily ever after. But I think it's a reason to fight for those things. I know my attempt to save Jacks could end in fiery explosion, but I'd rather go up in flames with him than watch while he burns.”
“He wanted to keep her pressed to the floor beneath him. He would have set the world on fire and then let it all burn just to keep holding her like this.”
“He glanced at her sideways. "You shouldn't stare at me like that."
"Then how should I stare?"
"You shouldn't stare at me at all." He abruptly looked away.”
**********************************
The last few days were full of tears for me. The emotions ran high. I didn't want to be disturbed while I devoured this series. I was angry if I had to look away from my pages.
Jacks was tiresome and annoying in a good way. He managed to torment Evangeline and the readers at the same time.
I never thought I'd find another character I hate so much after Umbridge, but Aurora came just near her. How could someone be that self-centred. She put a curse on Jacks that not only drove him to almost kill the girl he was in love with but then she put another curse to make his life eternally lonely by making all his kisses fatal. Only someone who NEVER loved him could survive. How can someone be THAT cruel? And above that, she still planned to free up Apollo from the tree on top of everything she had already done?!
I swear I could strangle her with my bare hands!
Little fox, Evangeline, she was everything. Brave, stupidly hopeful, eternally optimistic and yet such a pure pure soul. She forgave Marisol and then Apollo and Jacks and LaLa and every person who could and had wronged her. She was too trusting. No wonder Jacks has to keep saving her over and over again.
The most beautiful part of the book was when Jacks could read her thoughts, whether she projected them or not. Everything Jack did was amazing. Beautiful. Even his meanness, his growls, his jealousy and mostly his nonchalance.
Stephanie Garber. You made it eternally beautiful and to make it happen with no open door romance scenes. It's a feat. Getting my physical copies to mark the highlights and then bury it for my old age. ❤

Until now I was pitying Apollo a bit. But this is inhumane. He is the villain, not Jacks !

That confession!!!!!
There might be some spoilers, sorry!

Book review: The Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber
The Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The second book was heart-wrenching as well. There are so many lines that I have highlighted. I could guess he was the Archer. I could guess that Castor was the chaos. But Apollo in the end was a huge twist and her losing her memories despite Jacks not using the stones for that purpose was truly heartbreaking. The part where she died was twisted. The writing is magnificent, just like the north. The stories are amazing, intriguing and beautiful. The ballad of the Archer and the Fox was a heartbreak in itself.
I love Jack's. I love Evangeline. She's perfect. Too perfect, like an angel. He is perfect in her heartbreak and mournful kind a way. I want them to be together soon. Onto the last book.

My favourite quotes :
“It hurts, Jacks.”
“I know, love. I’m going to take you somewhere safe.”
“He held her with the type of intensity that only happens when a person wants something that isn't quite theirs.”
“The girl was dead. If her lifeless body had not confirmed it, then it would have been made clear by the horrible scream of the Fate who held her in his arms. The story curse was familiar with pain, but this was agony, the sort of raw grief that was only seen once in a century. The Fate was every tear that anyone had ever shed for lost love. He was pain given form.”
“I do not want you dead, and I’ll kill anyone who tries.”
“Glad to know you're thinking about me when you kiss your husband.”
“Jacks no longer felt like her enemy, he felt like her home.”
“Whatever it is, Jacks, you won't feel the same in a minute."
He swalloved hard and clenched his jaw. "You have no idea what I'm feeling now."
He looked at her lips, and the most tortured expression she'd ever seen crossed his face.
When Jacks wanted something, it was with an intensity that could break worlds and build kingdoms. That was the energy pouring off him now, as if he wanted to destroy her and make her his queen all at once.”
“It smelled of him; of apples and magic and cold, moonlit nights.”
“Jacks’s chest was heaving, his clothes were soaked, his hair was a mess across his face—yet in that moment, Evangeline knew he would carry her through more than just freezing waters. He would pull her through fire if he had to, haul her from the clutches of war, from falling cities and breaking worlds. And for one brittle heartbeat, Evangeline understood why so many girls had died from his lips. If Jacks hadn’t betrayed her, if he hadn’t set her up for murder, she might have been a little bewitched by him.”
“Jacks looked down on her from the dark nightstand where he’d perched himself. His long legs draped negligently over the edge of the furniture as his hands played with an apple and a knife.
“You talk in your sleep,” he drawled. “You said my name—a lot.”
Evangeline felt a rush of heat crawl up her neck. “Obviously, I was having a nightmare.”
“It didn’t look that way to me, Little Fox, and I was here all night.”
“She feared that dreams were like fairytales, a little bit true and not entirely trustworthy”
“She used to think love was like a house. Once it was built, a person got to live in it forever. But now she wondered if love was more like a war with new foes constantly appearing and battles creeping up.”
“In the morning you can forget it. You can go back to pretending you dont like me. and i can pretend i dont care. But for tonight, let me pretend youre mine”
“You're good at this,' she murmured. 'Do you often travel with girls who've been flayed?'
That earned her a soft laugh. 'No.' Then quietly, as he ran a cloth along her lower back, just below the dip in her waist. 'Would you be jealous if I did?'
I'm not a jealous person was what Evangeline intended to say, but instead the words 'of course' came out.
Jacks laughed, louder this time.
Embarrassment surged through her. 'That's not what I meant to say.'
'It's all right. I'd probably kill another man if I found him with you like this.' Jacks' hands pressed harder as they went to her shoulders and, one by one, ripped off the sleeves of her dress so that what remained of the gown completely fell away.
She made a sound somewhere between a squeal and a gasp. 'What that really necessary?'
'No, but everyone should have their clothes ripped off at some point.'
She imagined Jacks was mostly trying to distract her from all the pain, yet she blushed all the way from her cheeks to her chest.
Out of the corner of her eye, she thought she saw him smile.
And for a second, nothing hurt.”

“I believe there are far more possibilities than happily ever after or tragedy. Every story has the potential for infinite endings.”
“If you think I'm jealous because someone else got to stab you, then you're right.”
“He held on to her as if she were a grudge, his body rigid and tense, as if he really didn't want her there, and yet his arms were tight around her waist as though he had no intention of ever letting her go.”
“Stop flashing your fangs. I’m the only one who gets to bite her.”
“He looked like a bad decision some unfortunate person was about to make.”
“I'm curious about a lot of things. I'm curious about you, but I don't want you to bite me!"
The corner of Jacks's mouth twitched. "I've already done that, Little Fox.”
“She didn't make being alone seem lonely as Evangeline had always feared. She made it seem like an adventure, as if every moment were the start of a story with endless possibilities.”
“His teeth grazed her pulse. 'Jacks-' It was suddenly impossible to form words. His mouth was against her throat and his teeth were on her skin. HIs teeth! Evangeline finally pressed against his chest. But it was as useless as trying to battle a block of marble. Hot, sculpted marble. She wanted to tell him not to bite her, but saying the word bite didn't seem like the wisest idea just then. 'You won't want this later.'
'Not really thinking about later.' He licked her, one languorous stroke up the column of her neck.
She gasped. 'You don't even like me.'
'I like you right now. I like you a lot.' He gently sucked her skin. 'In fact, I can't think of anything I like more.”
“She could picture him flashing those deceptive dimples as he tricked an angel into losing its wings just so he could play with the feathers.”
“Wait- are you saying that your kiss isn't deadly if you don't want it to be?'
'Careful, Little Fox, you sound curious. But you shouldn't be.”
“If Evangeline had a dagger, she imagined she could have sliced into that night as if it were a cake and stolen a piece of it to take a bite of all the wondrous dark.”

The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This book was a disappointment. I had to force myself to complete it after a certain point. The writing was too dragged on and repeatitive. Not engrossing enough for me and then the characters were not much endearing or relatable for me. I sometimes regret that I can't review a book as a reviewer but as someone who connects or feels stuff with the book. It did had a surprise of mention of 'around the corner cafe' from 'Marriage for One'. And a few snippets of where there was losing-control and assertive Mr. Aaron Blackford came into being, I was swooning. But mostly it was almost bearable. Not re-reading kinda stuff.

Marriage for One by Ella Maise

This book started on not a very promising note because I wasn't able to digest the fact he asked her to marry for her property and it was kinda crude till he kept up the Charade. But the moments they shared were sweet and so well detailed and written. The concept for me was on a 3 star level but the depiction was another story. Could have been much better but yet didn't disappoint in that regard. The feelings matter was again another story, I couldn't connect to any of the characters much. Something was amiss from the start. I loved their banters, their arguments. The make up after the fight was really really good. And again I'll go back to the tender moment, one of my favourites so far. So 4 stars it is.

The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston

6% - one chapter down and I KNOW this is the lake house thing! I am so sure. The server was the chef and man... It's going to be a roller coaster isn't it? Ending the first chapter with that huge grin is my first sign of "hooked, line and sinker". I know... It's gonna be good!
58% - 24 chapters down and this is not lake house or mix of Divine rivals with letters that travel. It's an apartment. There is nostalgia and grief. The way the story about her aunt and her death(suicide) is talked about is tearing. Heartbreaking. How grief can settle inside your bones and never let go. This is a really unique concept of a book. I am sure it's going to be 5 stars. It already is till now..
100%
It was poignant. Sublime. The way the author kept the mystery of him knowing about the 7 year slip was good. Everything was tied well in the end. I related most to her aunt. She carried a monster on her shoulder. The way the grief of losing has been the integral part of life of both the female and male lead, it has been done in a very delicate manner. Everything is done in refinement. Beautiful.

Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book had a particular seed of contemplation on the people pleasing instinct of some people. It was well presented. The storyline was good, about the academia and the way the politics is handled and shown is quite correct (I am in academia as well). The power play of mentors, I am thankful I haven't had to experience it that way but yes it exists. The fierceness of Jack's calling out Elsie's bullshit was good too. I liked Ali Hazelwood's writing the funny and pure way of putting things and especially the analogies she brings up. Hilarious and entertaining. I finished the book in record time because again it's Ali Hazelwood. I love her. She grips from the start. The way the book starts at a point of the interest and slowly eases you into her world. Amazing.

Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
A dedication followed by a John Keats poem. Do I need to already give this book a five star?
This book filled a few cracks. Breathed some life. The magic, the tangible current, the keys of the typewriter, the notes of the violin. Of Enva and Dacre. Of purity and ambition. Of loss. Of fear. Of mourning.
Everything was beautiful. A carefully woven fabric of everything aligning in the end. I missed Marisol and Keegan's story at the end. Forest and Sarah were tragic. Helena was a force to reckon with. Darce was too scary. Enva.. pitiful.
Iris E. Winnow.. she was as strong as they come. Strong and soft and very human. Relatable.
Roman C. Kitt, a deep breath, a person to behold.
I liked Attie and Tobias too. Everything was perfect. I don't have anything to point out. The book, though long, never once felt it was dragging. Everything, the folklore, the tales of god's, the dreams of Iris and Roman. Perfect. Just perfect. It was the first trophy book I ordered without a prior read. I knew it was going to be good. Since the first one was THAT amazing.

Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I don't know what I was expecting when I saw this romance book recommendation, but it wasn't this. This deep, raw and bloody tale of war and love and loss. Roman C. Kitt, Iris Winnow they have wrenched my heart. Squeezed out the emotions and love and fear and longing. This is such a beautiful story. It has everything, ambition, doubt, bravery, love, apprehensions, love, more bravery, suspense and sadness. So much sadness. I am in tears. I shouldn't have started this thinking it was a light read. It wasn't. It's heavy and oh-so emotional. Even the story of the typewriters. The war, the sibling's relationship.
For a change, in this book, I could never ever predict anything even though there were tropes of forced proximity and hidden identity. Everything was up in the air, like a fresh leaf falling from the tree, nothing repetitive about it. It's amazing Rebecca Ross.
The cliffhanger had been reading a snippet of the next book and I hope it'll be a happy ending. Onto the next one. Thank you for this reason, Rebecca. Soul-filling.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I loved the depiction of Asperger's syndrome. That's the only reason I read it all in one sitting. There was a bit of repetition of the issues on both sides but eventually it was good. I liked it more till the 95% part. The end was a bit flat. But the book itself had lots and lots of fireworks. A good read in all. Very beautiful and relatable writing.

Book review: Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez
Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
At 35% of the book. Part of your world.
I knew it was going to be good because Abby Jimenez didn't disappoint in her writing style in Yours Truly. I wanted to know the story of Alexis from book 2. I knew they would end up together but I wanted to see the journey. After just finishing chapter 35 of Daniel's POV I literally cried like anything. The way Abby portrays the emotions is always a shipwreck inside me, the rawness, the relatability. Everything is so beautiful. The characters, even the side ones are so wholesome. This is a 5 star one, just gonna read up the rest and be back soon.
It was a feel good book. Just like the second part of this, the handling of everything related to family drama was beautiful. Aptly wrapped and concluded. I am in love with Abby now. Gonna read the third part as well. She has calmness in her work. Especially the men she writes about. They are green forests instead of just flags.

Ofcourse I read the book because I have already seen the movie and ofcourse I love the movies.
The writing is so pretty, so relatable and this book has such a warm fuzzy feeling of thick socks in the peak of winters. I loved the narration and the Easter eggs of Ms. Rothschild and John Ambrose McLaren. And I didn't know the book would end at this point. Onto the next one of course now.

Practice Makes Perfect by Sarah Adams
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
4% of the book:
Okay. This female protagonist is suffering from social anxiety and I am hooked. Chapter 1 was good enough to reel me in. I am gonna love it , I can feel it. Bring it on Sarah Adams!
At 7% of the book:
Awww she's clumsy. I love it more and more.
At 53% of the book:
So far I like their chemistry. Annie the angel is kinda repetitive and his denial is too. But the chemistry is good. I like the characters of Annie and Will. So far. And this entire chapter is on a kiss or an extensive makeout session. That was really... Something out of the pirate novels that Annie so loves. Fingers crossed.
At 73% of the book:
I like the honest conversations that they had about what they want from life but I am having a hard time reeling in the feeling that their actions are falling all over the place. I mean, yes of course that's how we are in real life, not set in stone about how we are supposed to be, but at the same time in a book we usually expect for the character arc to start from somewhere and go somewhere entirely different. But here I am somewhat unconvinced about their actions and reactions. Let's see, what happens further.
At 100% of the book:
It was fine. But I am not that convinced. Yeah, she's an introvert, yes I connected with her but the rant going on about the same things gave me a headache and wanted it to end about the third time she mentioned she was not 'angel Annie'. I'll give it 3 stars. Fell kinda flat after the first half.

My rating: 2 of 5 stars
My breakdown of the review as I read the book:
At 56% of book:
Call me biased but after the wonderful read and re-read of 'The love hypothesis' I have been having a hard time falling for this brutish man 'Knox' or this people pleaser damsel in distress 'Naomi'. But finally I am liking that he is doing stuff that wouldn't be called 'efforts' per se but are very considerate. Could be bare minimum but at the same time are so rare that they never exist. Yeah, so finding a few things to like about the book.
At 75% of the book I am pissed off at Knox because of this **spoiler alert** third act breakup thing. And because everyone telling Naomi that her trying to be perfect is getting toooo repetitive. Annoying and irritating. Stars are going down this time.
Okay and now at 78% I am already fed up with everyone just knowing how Knox is hiding his feelings and what not. Nope. Not working out for me now.
So done with it. Not in the mood to complete the series. The writing was too cliche for me and then the storyline was too stretched. 2.5 stars for that rowdy guy, shit personality and not so engaging storyline.

Book review: The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I started this book last night and haven't been able to put it down. The writing is gripping, funny, and emotionally all over the place—in the best way possible.
Even in the four hours of sleep I managed to get, I kept dreaming about Adam Carlsen and Olive. The trope might be cliché, but the handling is beautiful.
The mystery of "the guy" from the lab still hasn't been confirmed by 82% of the book, keeping me on edge. I nearly threw my Kindle across the room when Olive was being stupid and didn't want to report harassment by her would-be-could-be boss.
I love the side characters, and Adam—he's a tall, broody hunk with a genius IQ. What's not to fall for? Except maybe that he's an asshole who fails students left and right? No worries, I can relate—I might be that rude teacher too.
This book makes me want to be alone with it for a long period of time, savoring all the humor and vulnerability of Olive and Adam as slowly as possible. For the first time in a while, I don't want a book to end. So, I'll take a break from reading the remaining 15% for now. Sigh! It's perfect.
She knows. She knows. She knowssssssss. **Runs around screaming in ecstasy**
It was beautiful. Beautiful, soul-filling, and worthy of ordering a paperback to keep on my shelf. **Sigh** it was so beautifully written.
*Edit- 1 day later*
This book is all I think about right now. Last time I felt like this was after The Hating Game, It ends with us. And Better than movies as well. I really really need to know how Adam felt. I would buy the shit out of the book which tells me his POV for the whole book ever since they first met in his bathroom for the first time.
I ordered a physical copy. So this stays with me forever.

Book review: Book Lovers by Emily Henry
Book Lovers by Emily Henry
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
As I started this book, "Book Lovers," I had already highlighted three quotes in the prologue. I knew this was going to be as good a read as any. At first, the protagonist seemed like a sunshine-in-the-meadows kind of girl, but she quickly revealed herself to be the ice queen, and I was hooked.
Then there's the grump, who, of course, will eventually become the love interest. Like Nora, I always have to know beforehand how a book or movie ends. I don’t want to be surprised unnecessarily. I just read their confession scene in the bookshop, and it was such a wholesome piece of wrapping of all the promises.
For the first time, I felt there really were ENOUGH words. The final moment of confessions usually feels rushed or progresses to kisses too soon, but Emily Henry nailed it. It was as satisfying as the best burger I’ve ever had or the best cup of frothy coffee ever made. This book was enough. Enough to restore my faith in romances after two disappointing, book-tok hyped books.
The words, the catchy banter, the subtle love, the PG-13 level smut—it was all good. I have so many saved quotations from the book that I’ll share here. Emily Henry, you’ve truly delivered a satisfying romance.

It’s my mistake for picking up a book with this kind of snippet. I don't know what I’m looking for, but I know I’m not looking for an Alpha-Douchebag hero like Braden. He’s arrogant, and not in a charming way but in an irritating one. Then he gives her the 'look'. What? That's all it takes, apparently.
The language of the book is sometimes "???" that kept me on edge as well. Then this guy, Braden. He completely disregards Joss' boundaries. His behavior is both annoying and abusive. How can anyone romanticize him?
In short, this book is not my cup of tea. I didn’t finish it. I stopped halfway, hoping to find a storyline somewhere. But I guess halfway is enough to decide I can’t do this. I think I'll go back to cute contemporaries for now.

Book review: Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren
Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren
My rating: 1 of 5 stars
I went into "Beautiful Bastard" thinking it would be a hot and heavy romance with some good storylines. Boy, was I wrong. Instead, it turned out to be degrading porn without any real plot. I struggled to find any connection with the characters, and their interactions felt flat and meaningless.
I was really hoping for some steamy scenes mixed with a genuine romantic plot, but what I got was just a string of explicit encounters that didn't go anywhere. By the time I got halfway through the third chapter, I had to stop. It felt like a total waste of time and space.
Overall, "Beautiful Bastard" was a huge letdown for me, and I can't recommend it to anyone looking for a decent romance novel. This one gets 1 star from me.

Book review: Better than the Movies by Lynn Painter
Better than the Movies by Lynn Painter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
When I started reading this book, I immediately thought, "Oh yes, this girl is me." Liz is a rom-com movie buff waiting for her romantic hero, and her journey felt so relatable. Initially, I didn't want her to go for Michael, but soon it became clear that the trope was enemies to lovers with Wesley. Oh god, Wesley! He is funny, and so is Liz. My favorite laugh-out-loud moment was when Liz texted Michael from Wesley's phone about his hair. I couldn't stop laughing!
Wesley is so charming, and I'm falling for this guy just like Liz. But most of all, I connect with this hopeless romantic girl looking for the love she saw in movies. I was really hoping she'd pull her head out of her ass and see that Wesley is the one!
I found myself crying over the bond between Liz and Helena. Liz embracing the woman she thought was replacing the memories of her mom and finding a dependable friend in her is so touching. Helena reminds me of a practical and clear friend I have, yet she's soft and emotional.
This was a great book. It had everything: relatable characters, angst, confusion, and a happily ever after at the very end. Liz accepting Michael's promposal felt a bit stupid, and Wes making her go up to the piano room after that moment wasn't the best decision either. But this book made me cry, and that's always been a sign of a 5-star rating of the highest kind for me.
Long live romances with build-up and PG-13 content!

Book Review: Hook, Line, and Sinker by Tessa Bailey
Hook, Line, and Sinker by Tessa Bailey
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I recently read "Hook, Line, and Sinker" and found Hannah to be quite relatable, which was something I missed in the last book. Her character resonated with me in a way that felt genuine and grounded.
However, Fox was another story. He is such a hard head. I understand that sometimes it's difficult to break free from the notions you've set for yourself, and it's natural to need some help from others to figure it out. But Fox just keeps going back and forth on the same thing. It was frustrating to see him struggle so much with whether he wanted to shed his carefree image or not.
The only saving grace for me was the relatability with Hannah. Beyond that, the book felt dragged out and didn't hold my interest as much as I hoped.
Done and dusted. Not worth going back to it.

Book Review: It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey
It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This book was cute. Sweet.
The parts where Brenden was involved were intense, I don't think of any other word when he was involved. I understood the part why and how Piper started falling for him, but his side was not too convincing. Just that? He hadn't seen a girl/woman in 7 years and now this beautiful out of townie made him suddenly see 'new things'. Him falling for her wasn't lead-on properly or maybe because I kept picturing Alexis from Schitts creek here, I wasn't convinced. I don't know, I feel a bit cynical here. Piper was let down by a lot of people in her life, and Brenden doing the same kinda was a turn off. He went all huff and puff after all the build up of 'I'll be there for you' 'You depend on me'.
At the same time I too would give everything I have for a person like him to forgive and go back to, I guess.
The build up for Hannah and Fox seemed cute too. I might give it a go, or maybe not.
The steamy part didn't disappoint at all. That part was GOOOOD! I personally couldn't connect with Piper because of her initial nonchalance, ambition lessness and airheaded-ness (She was!). I could connect to her feeling of being categorised as 'incompetent' by everyone and being questioned if she was capable of doing stuff at all. That part was heartbreaking, when she thought everyone cancelled upon her and she was not worth giving the chance. At that part I wanted this Rom com steamy book to turn into a feminist rant of how she will gain her confidence back and give a finger to everyone who ever doubted her. But anyway. Ending with the mixed feelings about this book.

You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle

When this book started, I was rooting for Naomi to dump Nick's ass and fly far away to some distant country and start a new life away from his and his family.
But when the book progressed and I saw Nick in a new light when she realised that maybe he isn't what she thinks he really is... Seeing the picture from his angle as well. I started feeling sympathy for this pumpkin of a person, who was struggling himself.
It was quaint, watching them falling back in love honestly. I didn't want to put the book down. The explanation of intimacy of understanding one another in this book was beautifully portrayed. I saw myself in this at so many places. The emotions were well written, the analogies of colors, description of every mundane was done so beautifully.
I guess I never had felt this desire to stop and reread so many of the lines again while reading for the first time because the meaning being conveyed was too intricate and beautifully put.

Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Oh, Beatrix Hathaway, how I've waited for your story, intrigued by your eccentric style and that mysterious "problem" of yours! Lisa Kleypas didn't disappoint in *Love in the Afternoon*. The flow was so good, like a comforting cup of tea on a rainy day—it just sated my bookish soul.
Beatrix's journey into love and self-discovery is both hilarious and heartwarming. Kleypas weaves romance and humour together like a master storyteller, making Beatrix's quirks and charms utterly irresistible.
The chemistry between Beatrix and her hero is off-the-charts, sparking with wit and genuine emotion. And let's not forget Kleypas's knack for bringing the Regency era to life—it's like stepping into a Jane Austen novel with a modern twist.
After finishing the book, I felt like I'd just had a fabulous chat with a friend—fulfilled, content, and slightly giddy. *Love in the Afternoon* is a must-read for anyone who loves historical romance served with a side of wit and charm. It's a book that'll leave you smiling and wanting more.

This was again a better and more profound than the previous. One because it started in the last book, two because it has elements of mystery and surprise and a bit thriller, three because the love hate relationship was hot. And the Leo- Cat relationship has been boiling since book 2, it should have been worth reading, which it was. This book honestly did not disappoint.

A bit of let down after the first two ones, specially because there was very little of the Hathaway Family quirks. Second because the male lead was frustrating. Third because the female lead's reactions were somewhat misplaced or not very convincing.

Book Review: Seduce Me at Sunrise by Lisa Kleypas (The Hathaways #2)
Seduce Me at Sunrise by Lisa Kleypas

EDIT: After reading the whole Hathaway series, I want to say that this was the best book of the series, but it only made sense after reading the first one. The buildup of that book satisfied the reding experience of this one. This is way better than the Bridgerton Series.
This was better than the previous one in the series. The writing is impeccable and captivating.
This series seems promising enough to be made as a Netflix original like Bridgerton. All the characters are such individuals with their own story and struggle, promising and interesting. The male lead in this ❤️ and their sensual experiences are so well described.
The only thing that irritated me was the point when an important character is under death threat and the other guy has the audacity to divulge into his lustful thoughts in the tensed time.

Book Review: Mine Till Midnight Lisa Kleypas (The Hathaways #1)
Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
As a fan of historical romance, "Mine Till Midnight" by Lisa Kleypas captured my heart from the very first page. Set in 19th-century England, this novel introduces readers to the captivating world of the Hathaway family, each member bringing their own unique charm and complexity to the story.
Amelia Hathaway, the heroine of the tale, instantly became a character I admired and rooted for. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family made her a standout protagonist. Watching her navigate the challenges of life, from managing her siblings to grappling with her own desires, was a journey I was deeply invested in.
The romantic tension between Amelia and Cam Rohan, the darkly mysterious half-gypsy, added an extra layer of excitement to the narrative. Their chemistry sizzled on the pages, making every interaction between them electric and unforgettable.
Lisa Kleypas's writing style is enchanting, painting a vivid picture of the historical setting and bringing the characters to life with depth and emotion. The plot twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat, eager to unravel the secrets and mysteries woven throughout the story.
Overall, "Mine Till Midnight" is a delightful blend of romance, drama, and intrigue that kept me captivated until the very end. It's a book I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a compelling historical romance with well-developed characters and a swoon-worthy love story.

The author had me hooked on this line:
"I rolled my eyes and waited. This year was going to be my villain origin story, I just knew it."
This male protagonist, I can't help but fall for him. It's not because he fits the typical alpha male stereotype or because he's conventionally attractive. It's because he's relatable. His anxiety and vulnerability are portrayed with such nuanced detail and accuracy that it feels like I'm looking into a mirror. He overthinks the smallest details, feels uneasy around new people, finds solace in familiar songs and shows, and gets caught in loops of social anxiety. He's me - the anxious one.
What's truly heartwarming is how he opens up and exposes his innermost thoughts and feelings, sharing his journal with someone special. This is a monumental step, especially for an introvert. He invites her into his world, giving her the power to either break him or love him, depending on her choice. It all feels incredibly personal, almost like a mirror reflecting my own insecurities and fears.
The story doesn't just stop there. I found myself empathizing with Briana too, understanding her trauma from past relationships and her struggle to trust again. The emotional depth of both characters takes the reader on a rollercoaster ride of feelings - from relatable anxieties to moments of courage and vulnerability, it's a journey that hits close to home.
In conclusion, this book is an emotional rollercoaster that beautifully captures the complexities of human emotions, anxieties, and the delicate dance of trust and vulnerability in relationships. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a story that resonates on a deeply personal level.

Book Review: It Starts with Us by Colleen Hoover
It Starts with Us by Colleen Hoover
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book has made me feel things I wasn't sure I was ready to feel. I want to meet Atlas Corrigan in real life.
It is so completely heart-wrenching. Like someone took my heart and twisted it in their hands, wrung out all the blood. There was an Atlas in my Life. Just like Atlas did to Lily, he made me feel things and made me soar high with all those feelings. Considerate Atlas. Considerate Him.
Alike Lily, he met me in my downtime and made my life beautiful, bearable and worth living.
The part where it is shown that Lily knows she loves Ryle, but she is still hung up on the fact why Atlas never came back for her. How it could all have been different if he had returned. If he had realised that they could have been something wonderful some other time. It again felt like a page out of my life's book. Too relatable, too scarring.
Thank you, Coleen Hoover, for putting the feeling and yearning of loving someone and losing in so many beautiful words.
