#5 A girl

(Contribution for the cause- Save the girl child!)

We born as a father’s dream
Mothers hope, a new lights beam
Sibling’s friend and secret holder
Advisor and guide as we grow older
Our tolerance is tested at every step
Our ways are full of thorns and whips
Victims of several shameful incidents
We are treated like worthless residents
We fear getting out after dusk
In every field we are separated like husk
They are unaware we have the power
To move mountains and stop rivers any hour
We have dived in marina trench, invaded space
Scaled Mount Everest, won every race
We are worshipped as goddess
Our presence is counted as priceless
Whole humanity took birth from our womb
Now this humanity us pushing us to doom
Murdering us will affect your fate, Beware

very awesome..!!! can't agree with you more...!!

Deepika,

An honest poetic work, which echoes the pain that girls face, especially in our country which is named after a mata too... So often we witness the prejudice, even I have seen the sidelining and partial treatment of girls even amongst most educated of families and societies... Great and touching work, keep them coming...:)

Karthik
